The Capstan Shafts = AWESOME

Here's what I know about The Capstan Shafts: It's a solo project of a man named Dean Wells, he makes lo-fi pop goodness, and he just released what is now one of my favorite albums of the year. The best way to describe his music would be to say that he was raised solely on Belle and Sebastian and Elephant 6 demos. That can be the only explanation for it, this is just too good.

His new "limited edition" release on Abandoned Love Records, The Sleeved and Grandaughters of the Blacklist, is nothing short of amazing. Im still excited because hearing this album made me feel the way I did when I first heard Dusk At Cubist Castle by The Olivia Tremor Control, now that's saying something.

Do yourself a favor and listen to this song and then hurry up and go buy the album from Abandoned Love Records. Again, it is a "limited edition" release so don't waste any time!

If you like this track then get yourself over to The Napk!n for a couple more songs from this incredible album.
